Cape Town Live provides event live streaming services in Cape Town. This policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
Who we are
Cape Town Live is the responsible party for personal information collected through capetownlive.co.za. You can contact us at info@capetownlive.co.za.
What we collect
- Details you submit in our quote form: your name, email address, phone number, event type, venue, date, time and any notes about your event.
- Information you send us by email or phone while we plan your event.
- Video and audio captured at events we stream, which may include images and voices of people attending.
- Basic technical information such as your IP address and browser type, collected automatically by our website for security and performance.
How we use it
- To respond to your enquiry and prepare a quote.
- To plan, deliver and support your live stream.
- To send viewing links and instructions to you or the people you nominate.
- To meet our legal, accounting and tax obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for direct marketing without your consent.
Live streams and recordings
Streams are broadcast either on YouTube or on our website through a private link. When a stream is on YouTube, Google’s privacy policy also applies to viewers. The client booking the stream is responsible for informing guests that the event is being streamed. Recordings are only kept or delivered as agreed with the client, and you can ask us to delete a recording we hold.
Who we share it with
We only share personal information with service providers we need to run our business, such as our website host, email provider and streaming platform, or where the law requires it. These providers may store data outside South Africa, and we only use providers with adequate data protection safeguards.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and booking information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, after which it is deleted.
Cookies
Our website uses essential cookies needed for it to work. If we add analytics or other non-essential cookies, we will update this policy.
Your rights
You may ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or object to how we use it, by emailing info@capetownlive.co.za. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa (inforeg.org.za).
Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.
